Frequently asked questions about this product
1. Why do bearings rust? How to prevent rust?
Bearing steel will rust like general steel. Although bearing steel contains Cr and has a certain anti-rust effect, the Cr content is too low. The Cr content of GCr15 is only about 1.5%. The anti-rust effect is better when the Cr content is close to 13%.
The Cr element in bearing steel mainly plays a role in improving the mechanical properties of steel, not for rust prevention. Bearing rust is a common problem that affects the performance and service life of the equipment.
In order to prevent bearings from rusting, it is necessary to start from multiple aspects, such as choosing suitable materials (such as stainless steel is recommended for use when exposed to air), maintaining a dry environment, preventing contact with liquids, applying rust inhibitors, vacuum packaging, regular inspection and maintenance, and controlling the storage environment.
The combined use of these methods can effectively reduce the risk of bearing rust and ensure the normal operation and service life of the equipment.
2. Do the purchased bearings need to be lubricated?
1. If you choose the BBK series oil-free, you need to add lubricant yourself.
2. If you choose the one without dust cover/single-sided dust cover, you need to add lubricant before use and do regular maintenance.
3. Bearing installation method.
1) Use the press-fit method for clearance fit
2) Use the sleeve installation for transition fit
3) Use the heating or cooling method for interference fit.
